Breast augmentation using your own fat

Breast augmentation using the patient’s own fat is suitable for healthy women who want a natural look, do not want implants and would prefer to avoid general anaesthesia. This modern method is suitable for younger and older women, as well as women who have not yet given birth or who have stopped breastfeeding six months ago. To enlarge the breasts using fat tissue, the patient must have sufficient subcutaneous fat in other areas of their body. Fat tissue is removed using the Body Jet device from areas such as the abdomen, hips and thighs. Increasing breast volume requires liposuction in one or two of the aforementioned areas. The doctor will determine the possibility of the procedure during a personal consultation.

The Body Jet device enables doctors to perform fat removal using a gentle technique. Body Jet liposuction involves disrupting fatty tissue with a thin water jet that flows through a cannula under the skin, gently washing fat out of the suctioned areas of the body into a prepared lipo collector. A separator then filters out healthy, viable stem fat cells, leaving behind damaged cells. Once the procedure is complete, the prepared fat can be transferred to the breasts using a syringe. Some of the separated fat is injected under the mammary gland and some into the subcutaneous fat tissue of the breast. During the procedure, the client can watch the fat being applied to the breasts and, if necessary, contribute her own opinion to correcting the shape and size of the breasts. To apply the fat to the breasts, 1–2 punctures are made on each side (either on the outer side of the breast or under the breast). Once the fat has been applied, the small entry points are covered with Steri-Strips and hydrophobic adhesive tape.
The procedure ends with a light bandage being applied to the chest. It is not possible to say exactly how much fat is needed as every woman’s body varies in terms of skin firmness, breast size, age, height and weight. It is up to the doctors to decide how much fat to transfer to the breasts. For the transferred fat to integrate well, there must be an adequate amount. The fatty tissue must be surrounded by well-perfused tissue and distributed evenly; otherwise, it will not receive a blood supply and will die. The body will then absorb the dead tissue. During the procedure, the breasts can be enlarged by one or two cup sizes, with 70–80 per cent of the implanted fat expected to survive. If the patient desires an even larger breast size, the procedure can be repeated several times after six months.

Thanks to the gentle nature of the Body Jet device, the entire procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia. The surgical procedure leaves only minor scars from the cannula insertion site, which fade completely over time. As the donor and recipient are one and the same, the transfer of the patient’s own fat does not cause allergic reactions or pose a risk of infectious disease transmission. This is therefore an autologous transplant. Patients can leave our medical facility one hour after the procedure, which takes between 120 and 150 minutes. After the operation, patients should arrange transportation home and plan to rest for at least two to three days. After that, patients can resume normal activities, but should avoid lifting anything heavy or straining their chest muscles. Healing is very quick. Most patients can stop wearing compression garments one month after the procedure. Any restrictions on activities or sports are usually short-term. The final results of the procedure are usually achieved after three months. The next stage of fat transfer to the breasts can be repeated after six months.
