It is not recommended to consume substances that promote bleeding, such as aspirin and blood thinners, or take higher doses of vitamin E or certain anti-inflammatory medications, for about a week before applying hyaluronic acid. The procedure cannot be performed on people with acute infections (especially at the injection site), autoimmune diseases such as dermatomyositis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma, or immunosuppression. It also cannot be performed on pregnant women or those with blood clotting disorders.

After cleansing your skin, a specialist doctor will inject hyaluronic acid into your skin. You will either sit or lie down during the procedure. The treated area can then be cooled with ice. The treatment is minimally painful and usually takes 30 minutes.

After hyaluronic acid has been applied, clients can immediately return home or to work. To prevent possible swelling, the treated areas can be cooled after the procedure. Temporary redness or bruising may appear at the treatment site, but this usually disappears within a week.

For at least 6 hours, the treated area must not be squeezed, massaged or strained by facial expressions. Until the swelling subsides, it is not recommended that you engage in excessive physical exertion or expose the face or treated area to intense heat or sunlight. Make-up can be applied to the face after two hours. Cosmetic treatments, dental appointments, and facial massages should be avoided for at least one week after the procedure.
